The best baby registry is at Target—here's why

Three words: free welcome kit

The best baby registry is at Target—here's why

As a first-time expectant mama, you don't know what you don't know. You can't predict what's in store for your motherhood journey or what challenges you'll face. But here's what you can do: You can equip yourself with all the things that'll make early motherhood as easy as it can be. And that's where your baby registry comes into play.

I tell all to-be parents to register at Target, and here's why: The benefits of a Target baby registry last long after you bring that baby home. In fact, the retailer has your back for a full year after delivery. Now, Target has always had a pretty awesome registry experience, but right now it's better than ever thanks to brand new registry perks.

Register with Target and you'll get access to a Year of Benefits, which (as the name suggests!) helps you stock up on all the essentials you'll need for the first 12 months. As we mentioned, anticipating every single need you'll face as a mama is impossible, and that's why Target's Year of Benefits is so game-changing: It'll make it easier and more affordable to address those needs on the fly.

Target has a well-earned reputation for supporting parents with things like curbside pickup and nursing rooms. But while you've known and loved the experience of shopping online with Target, now is the time to learn more about all the benefits Target offers new parents. After all, you have a nursery to design, a baby to clothe and essentials to gather as you prepare for the arrival of your baby.

So what exactly does Year of Benefits entail? Let's get into it!

Take advantage of a Year of Exclusive Deals

When you create your baby registry with Target, you automatically get a Year of Benefits—and we're talking some seriously helpful perks that will help parents save big. But there's a super simple way to take it to the next level. All you have to do is sign up for Target Circle as well and you'll also get access to the Year of Exclusive Deals, a newly launched perk that gives registrants a full calendar year of exclusive savings on essentials like diapers, formula, feeding accessories and baby clothes. All the deals are seamlessly integrated with Target Circle, so taking advantage is as easy as logging onto the Target app... and you can even earn points to direct towards select nonprofits.

Get a free welcome kit with samples and coupons

When you create a baby registry with Target, you'll also receive a goody bag filled with best-loved samples and valuable coupons. With an option to either download coupons straight to your Target app or stop by guest services, you can easily tap into more than $100 worth of coupons. We also love that you can sample some items before committing to add full sizes to your registry.

Enjoy a 15% discount on Target items in your registry

If you don't receive all the items you request, don't sweat it. You'll get TWO coupons for 15% off any Target products that are left behind within two months of your baby's expected arrival. Redeeming the coupon is as simple as logging in to your registry account and exploring the benefits. Even better: You can use the two coupons to shop anytime you want—online or in stores!—for a full year after your baby's expected arrival. Pro tip? After you deliver, you can make your registry private and continue to add items. So if you don't want to request a big ticket item (think a crib or a stroller) from friends, keep it hidden and snag it for yourself at a discount.

Get to return items for one full year

As an expansion of Target's already generous return policy, new parents can enjoy returns on items from their baby registry for one full year after their baby's expected due date. That's a huge benefit to keep in mind because needs can (and almost always do) change after your baby's arrival—so it's a great opportunity to register for a variety of baby gear items and then return what you don't end up needing.

Register for favorite items with universal registry

Even though Target has just about everything under the sun, you don't have to stop there. With Target's "universal registry" function, you can add favorite finds from any retailer, including boutiques and independent brands. This also saves you time so you don't have to build multiple registries.

It's truly impossible to go wrong with Target, and that's 100% true when it comes to building a Target baby registry as well. So get to registering by starting your Target baby registry here and enjoying the Year of Benefits with a Year of Exclusive Deals through Target Circle, a year of free returns, two completion coupons and more, mama!

The one thing your family needs to practice gratitude

And a tradition you'll want to keep for years.

Gracious Gobbler

I think I can speak for well, basically everyone on planet earth when I say things have been a bit stressful lately. Juggling virtual school, work and the weight of worry about all the things, it's increasingly difficult to take even a moment to be grateful and positive these days. It's far easier to fall into a grump cycle, nagging my kids for all the things they didn't do (after being asked nine times), snapping at their bickering and never really acknowledging the good stuff.

But the truth is, gratitude and appreciation is the kind of medicine we need now more than ever—and not just because the season is upon us. For one thing, practicing gratitude is a scientifically proven way to boost our happiness, health and relationships. More importantly, we need to ensure we're cultivating it in our children even when things are challenging. Especially when things are challenging.

I'm ready to crank the thankfulness up a few dozen notches and reboot our family's gratitude game so we can usher out 2020 on a fresh note. So, I've called in some reinforcements.

Enter: the Gracious Gobbler.

Sorry, you can’t meet our baby yet

Thank you for understanding. ❤️

In just over three weeks, we will become parents. From then on, our hearts will live outside of our bodies. We will finally understand what everyone tells you about bringing a child into the world.

Lately, the range of emotions and hormones has left me feeling nothing short of my new favorite mom word, "hormotional." I'm sure that's normal though, and something most people start to feel as everything suddenly becomes real.

Our bags are mostly packed, diaper bag ready, and birth plan in place. Now it's essentially a waiting game. We're finishing up our online childbirth classes which I must say are quite informational and sometimes entertaining. But in between the waiting and the classes, we've had to think about how we're going to handle life after baby's birth.

FEATURED VIDEO

I don't mean thinking and planning about the lack of sleep, feeding schedule, or just the overall changes a new baby is going to bring. I'm talking about how we're going to handle excited family members and friends who've waited just as long as we have to meet our child. That sentence sounds so bizarre, right? How we're going to handle family and friends? That sentence shouldn't even have to exist.
