Manndi Wilkins

Amannda (Manndi) Maphies Wilkins is a wife, mother, and freelance writer. She contributes to several online and written publications, including (but not limited to): Moms of Teens and Tweens, Her View from Home, Motherly, Salt + Sparrow, Daily Inspired Life with Karletta Marie, Calla Press, Focus on the Family, The Christian Standard, and has been published in Chicken Soup for the Soul Believing in Angels (January 2022). She had her first book published September 2022, Tales From My Mummy. Her greatest passion is being a boy mom to her two sons, William (13, going on 23) and Waylan (still sweet and boyish, 10). Her sons never fail to provide daily entertainment, which inspires many of her writings. She also loves to write about everything from being a single mom and dating after divorce to finding love later in life, the devastation of miscarriage, the loss of a loved one, starting over, and dealing with anxiety and mental issues (specifically her personal journey with OCD). Her pieces are lovingly filled with inspiration, encouragement, and always a touch of humor. “Live a life worthy of writing about” is her daily motto and she strives to live up to these words every single day!

Motherly Stories

I am my children’s safe space and their constant comfort

Moms are the quintessential workers that show up every day.

Teen

To my tween: I miss who you were, but love who you’re becoming

“When you were young, we shared everything—kisses, hugs, my favorite comfy living-room lazy-boy, even my bed on most nights when you were scared of the dark and needed Mommy. That was then.”

Grandparents & Extended Families

My strict parents became indulgent grandparents who spoil my kids rotten—and it’s great

The joy I feel knowing my two sons are being undeniably spoiled with love, food, gifts, candy—and everything else good this world has to offer—is one of such completeness and gratitude.

Motherly Stories

To my second child: Our time will come

When my oldest son begins to spread his wings and fly further away from home base, I will be left with my youngest son. Those magical one-on-one experiences I had with my firstborn, before his brother arrived, will be paid back in full.

Child Learn & Play

I want less for my children

I miss simple. I miss pure, innocent, naive and sheltered.
