Your curious 4-month-old

Playing with your baby just got a lot smarter.

Your curious 4-month-old

Your baby is becoming more and more confident as she discovers her world.

Make the most of their milestones:

It's true what they say—the days feel long, but these months of milestones are flying by! You've officially entered your baby's fourth month, and your little one is able to do so much more. Our fun and simple guide to play time will help you encourage that natural desire for exploration—in a way that will keep you both engaged.

Your baby is fascinated by other people—especially you, mama!—and has started to show more emotions. You've also probably noticed her playing around with more sounds as she tries to communicate, and her head and arms have become more stable. It's the perfect moment for toys, like this light bar, that encourage tummy time and can grow with her as she begins to sit up.

Here are a few suggestions to make the most of your baby's fourth month.

Thinking

Your baby shows more emotion.

  • Try This: Respond to emotions with empathy to create a foundation of trust.

Engaging

She is fascinated by people watching.

  • Try This: Interact often by playing, talking and cuddling.

Communicating

Your baby is realizing that you respond to her sounds.

  • Try This: Continue to respond to show you are there for her.

Moving

Her head is more stable and she can push up during tummy time.

  • Try This: Put interesting toys like the Glow and Discover Light Bar in front of her to encourage her to spend more time on her tummy and reach out.

Your postpartum life:

You may be getting ready to go back to work now. If you're feeling stressed, that's totally normal. Trust that your baby will be okay! Make your time together count with fun activities that encourage her naturally curious personality. Toys that light up and play musicwill engage her senses in fun, new ways.

Now that the “fourth trimester" is over, you're really starting to hit your stride with your baby. We're sending you a high-five, mama!

This oil completely changed my skin this summer

And I'm never going back to lotion.

For all the sweating and swimming I do in the summer, it seems illogical for my skin to be as parched as ever. But your mid-thirties (and 2020 in general) don't really seem to follow any rule book, so here we are.

A couple of months ago, I was on the lookout for a moisturizer that would not only keep my legs from looking like an ashy mess, but also truly nourish and benefit my skin. I've developed a deep interest in skin care for my face over the past few years and decided it's high time to extend that degree of consideration to the rest of my body. (After all, there's more of it, right?)

It's not that I'm too concerned with aging, but let's be real. If there's something that can be done to slow the Wrinkle Express, I'm going to give it a go. I also wanted to find something natural that wouldn't turn into a goopy mess the second I started sweating.

Enter: Esker's Firming Body Oil.

Two weeks. I cannot believe that it has been two weeks since my second son was brought into this world. Two weeks since my husband and I welcomed baby Simon, the final piece of our little family.

But, here is the whopper: It has been two weeks since I have been the mom of a toddler and a newborn. I am now responsible for taking care of two tiny humans.

It absolutely blows my mind how much my life has changed in the last two weeks. It's definitely not all rainbows and unicorns around here, but things are going pretty well. This is me being cautiously optimistic.

What I have done is learned a lot about myself, my kids and my new life in the last two weeks.
