One favorite pregnancy pastime is daydreaming about the tender moments you'll share with your sweet little one. And as you imagine nuzzling and snuggling, it's likely you're picturing the perfect nursery, too.
There's no shortage of inspiration out there for baby's future oasis, especially on the thousands of Pinterest boards shared by like-minded mothers-to-be. While anything goes in terms of potential themes, there are a few baby nursery trends that stand out as the most popular based on data from Pinterest.
According to Pinterest, one top trend is the gender-neutral nursery.
Pinterest reports that unisex nursery pins spiked by 230% in 2016, with pinners between the ages of 25 and 34 leading the way. It makes sense: Rooms that make more use of yellows and greens than pinks or blues could be popular among parents who opt not to learn the sex of their baby before delivery, those who envision moving future children of the opposite sex into that space—or those gender-conscious mamas who just want to go with a unisex theme. Beyond gender-neutral nurseries, Pinterest reports other top trends include turning to nature for inspiration, using mint or gray colors and integrating rustic touches. Although Pinterest is the true gold mine for baby nursery ideas, here are a few of our favorites that exemplify each trend.

Gender neutral

We love how Julie of Girl in the Red Shoes styled her second baby's nursery with muted white, beige and gray colors. It's anything but boring with a sweet photo collage above the crib and vintage touches. What a lucky little one!

Jenna Miller beautifully captured her little one's travel-themed, gender-neutral nursery. The bright turquoise and orange accents, including the dresser she painted at nine months pregnant, tie everything together.

Woodland magic

A Nurse and a Nerd had a clear vision for their “great scout-doorsman" space from the beginning, but weren't afraid to rearrange as they went for a very cool finished space. They also proved a design-y nursery doesn't have to break the bank, by using old furniture pieces and free prints they found online.

Minty fresh

Chelisa Treadway created a lovely room for her baby girl that fused a woodland theme with feminine colors. We are swooning over the bird design on her mint wall!
