Name: Rachel Rind

Neighborhood: Tribeca

Occupation: Talent Acquisition Executive (advertising)

Baby’s Sex: 2017 is the year of the boy I’m told – I’m on trend 🙂

How would you describe your pregnant style?

Just trying to be a cute pregnant chick! Fitted tops that show off, or rather “embrace” the bump are essentials for me–especially when you get to the 20-week mark and there’s no confusion as to whether or not your tummy is a baby or winter hibernation residue. I like to think I have my own style in general, but I keep it simple, never fussy (no fishtail braids or clothing that doesn’t have an obvious front or back).

I have enjoyed repurposing my clothing (and my husband’s clothing) for pregnancy (my outfit for the shoot is a prime example). Cute/edgy sneakers or a fun low-mid heel (2 1/2 -3 inch) kick up my outfits a notch for sure. I always feel better going out the door if I know I’m rocking the cute pregnant chick look.

Have you had any challenges learning to dress your body during this pregnancy?

Yes. I’m a lot bigger than my usual petite frame but the longer I’m pregnant the easier it gets.

So far, what has surprised you most during your pregnancy?

I’ve been surprisingly calm during my pregnancy. I’m very aware that I’m carrying my son so I’m never really alone and that’s totally OK with me. My happiness is his happiness and vice-versa, this provides me with a deep sense of importance and grounding.

What are you most looking forward to sharing with your baby?

My love and attention – there will be gobs and gobs of it from my husband and me! I can’t wait to meet my little man!

What’s your top 5 registry essentials?

I’ve received a number of lists from friends and friends of friends on their top baby essentials. The following have been favorited by at least three current moms, except the last one, that’s all me.

  1. My Breast Friend (I’ve been told it’s literally a mom’s best friend)
  2. Sprout hooded towels (soooo cute)
  3. Ubbi diaper pail (definitely want my nursery to smell like baby not dookie)
  4. The Mamaroo (I have witnessed its magic powers with my friends’ babies)
  5. Burt’s Bees 9 Piece Take Me Home basket (I love good eco products for myself, so for the baby it’s all about going green).

Rachel is wearing:

This tunic top is literally 15 years old and it somehow managed to stick around through countless moves around NYC and the world. I used to wear it belted, but left loose it fits like a glove (not for long unfortunately).

Forever 21 Tank Top (they are $3 each, I have tons of them)

Cut-off tights from Destination Maternity.

Betsey Johnson shoes. I work across the street from DSW so I stop in from time to time for a leisure stroll or shoe fix. These pretty little things instantly lift my mood when I slip them on.
