SHOP CONNIE'S STYLE
Name: Connie Viglietti Neighborhood: Long Island City Occupation: Yoga teacher and sometimes actress/singer Baby’s Sex: The bump is a surprise! Maia, 16 months, will be a big sister! How would you describe your pregnant style? I am in yoga clothes most days of the week--leggings and tank tops with a layer on top. My first pregnancy, I didn't go overboard shopping for myself. I had a few friends that said they wore the same things over and over. That sounded thrifty to me. But when you are in yoga clothes all day, every day, you start to feel like a bum a bit (let's face it...maternity yoga clothes are not as cute and normal yoga clothes). This pregnancy, I vowed to shop and look nice to feel good. I am having fun this time around. And by fun I mean skinny jeans, chunky sweaters and harem pants. Have you had any challenges learning to dress your body during this pregnancy? This being my second pregnancy I have the hang of it now. I have to remember to wear shoes with some height to make me look longer and not too much wider! So far, what has surprised you most during your pregnancy? It amazes me all the time that there is life growing inside of me. I don't love being pregnant all of the time but the purest feelings of joy, empowerment and grace come over me often and that surprises me. What a privilege it is to be a mom. I think this will be our last baby, so I am really trying to enjoy every moment. What’s been your favorite pregnancy piece or brand to show off your bump? I have a lot of Motherhood maternity leggings and fitted shirts that I love. The material is so comfy and you can dress it up with the right accessories or keep it simple for being around the apartment or yoga studio. I am also loving the maternity section at Target! Good deals for fun things! What NYC experience are you most looking forward to sharing with your baby? Our families aren't very close to us so we have our village of chosen family. I am really looking forward to Maia showing her little brother or sister what the Brooklyn sing-alongs are like, how we do brunch in the big city and simply taking an afternoon stroll and singing to our baby.
