How would you describe your pregnant style?

This summer has been brutally hot for this preggo and I spend a majority of my days running after my toddler, so I tend to keep it very casual. Mostly fitted tank tops, jean shorts, flip flops, and when I need the extra boost, a fun statement necklace.

Have you had any challenges learning to dress your pregnant body?

The third trimester of a twin pregnancy is quite challenging fashion-wise. By about 30 weeks I was already bigger than I was with my first child, and one by one my maternity shirts are getting too short to cover the bottom of my bump. Eeek! I refuse to go full on mumu style, so I’ve had to get creative. Empire waist dresses as shirts, that kind of thing.

So far, what has surprised you most during your pregnancy?

Despite me and the twins being completely healthy so far (knock on wood), I’ve been surprised by how high risk our care providers have been treating us. In my first pregnancy, I think I had a total of three ultrasounds, but this time it’s a little bit intense! At 34 weeks I’ve already had 21 scans and they’re about to become weekly.

What’s been your favorite pregnancy piece or brand to show off your bump?

I have a couple of cute sleeveless shirts from Motherhood Maternity (same style in different colors) that are fitted, cool, and really comfy. They’ve been on heavy rotation for me since the second trimester and are some of the only shirts that are still long enough to cover my belly - hoorah!

What NYC experience are you most looking forward to sharing with your baby?

I love love love the free classes at the Brooklyn libraries. I’ve been taking my son to the Bay Ridge and Fort Hamilton branch classes since he was only 3 months old, first Babies and Books and now Toddler Time. I can’t wait to introduce this tradition to my girls! It’s fun, educational, and a great way to meet other moms.
