How would you describe your pregnant style?

Stubborn? (Ha!) I refused to get maternity clothes. I'm lucky to be tall so it was a bit easier to pull off relaxed casual without looking like a 90's throwback. I've also made it a point to force my way into my pre-pregnancy-sized boyfriend jeans pretty much until the bitter end. (Truth be told, some days I just didn't breathe too well!) I had a lot of vintage tees and flowy tops that came in handy, and my sneaker collection has paid off tenfold in this home stretch(ed out feet).

Have you had any challenges learning to dress your body during pregnancy?

I've definitely had to sacrifice my personal style and stick to more basics, and I admit to (gasp) repeating the staple items that actually fit me well... Something that I wouldn't have done prior to this. At the end of the day, I've learned that you just have to look at yourself through a different lens during this time, one of love and acceptance. It's a beautiful time, but more often than not you don't feel so beautiful and it can be frustrating... so the more you cut yourself some slack, the better. I'm just glad I own my company and don't have to abide by anyone else's dress code!

So far, what has surprised you most during your pregnancy?

Probably people's reactions to seeing a pregnant woman. It's kind of magical to see how it can change people's expressions and make them smile. For the most part, it seems to bring out the kindness in people.

What’s been your favorite pregnancy piece or brand to show off your bump?

I wore an amazing bright yellow Naeem Khan caftan from the SS16 runway for my shower in CA that made me feel like a total goddess for the day. (Attached a pic). Surprisingly, workout gear is also a favorite... I have these camo leggings from HPE, they're actually a client of mine, but I still squeeze into a size small and they hug all the right places. Plus it makes me feel good to kick ass in a workout, even with a serious bump in these last months.

What NYC experience are you most looking forward to sharing with your baby?

A fresh snowfall during winter. There's something so magical about NYC during that time when the city first gets blanketed in white.
