With all the registering, planning and, um, growing that you’re doing, we know that you’ve got your hands full. But now that you’ve learned that toxin elimination should be at the top of your pregnancy list, we want to ease your worries by telling you, “YES!” hair salons with less toxins do exist. In fact, we’ve heard women rave about blowouts and colors they’ve had done at certain spots. Who knew?
Here’s our quick list of NYC hair salons that find it important to carry only products with the best for you and your babe. One might be closer to you than you think.
Hale Organic Salon
We first got introduced to Hale through our in-the-know gal pals Randi Zinn and Fashionable Hostess, who threw an event here this summer, and we knew we liked it from the moment we walked in. Maybe it’s the gorgeous repurposed decor or it could be all the smiling faces. Or maybe, just maybe, it’s the something in the air…or not. Hale is a “clean-air salon,” meaning you won’t ever find even a spritz of hairspray being sprayed here. They’ve got a special room designated for that. Seriously. Find out more here.
I may be opening a can of worms here, but this is my neighborhood gem. Launched in 2009 by Jess Stover and her husband Bradley Pierce, Adelaide is as welcoming as they come. All products are organic–including Simply Organics and Cold Spring Apothecary–and work wonders. Hair cuts are on point, and we love the succulent filled corner windows too. More about Adelaide here.
