Name: Zoe Sakoutis Neighborhood: Williamsburg...moving to Fort Greene Occupation: Entrepreneur Baby’s Sex: It'll be a surprise! How would you describe your pregnant style? Repetitive/Thrifty. I tend to find a few combinations that work and just stick with them. I’ve been reluctant to buy too many maternity clothes so instead I’ve tried to rediscover old pieces in my closet. I can’t believe how much I’ve found! Clothes that for whatever reason I bought way too big at the time and never wore again. I’m finally getting use out of them! Have you had any challenges learning to dress your body during this pregnancy? This is my first so it’s all been pretty educational. I think the turning point came during the 4th or so month when I finally stopped trying to hide it with loose clothes and instead started to accentuate my bump with fitted clothes. I actually wish I had done that sooner—it’s fun to make your mid section the showpiece. Boobs have also been an interesting addition—I’ve never had them before but I think the same rule applies: try to wear them as an accessory. So far, what has surprised you most during your pregnancy? How your body can change so dramatically from one day to the next. One day I can have more energy than I know what to do with and the next day I suddenly need a mid-day nap. I have surrendered to the fact that I have no idea what my body is going to demand of me next—it’s been unpredictable so I’ve decided to just listen and take direction. What’s been your favorite pregnancy piece or brand to show off your bump? The staple so far has been my Citizens of Humanity skinny maternity jeans. They are so comfortable! What NYC experience are you most looking forward to sharing with your baby? As strange as it sounds, riding the subway. There is so much stimulation and random entertainment once you go underground. I’m very excited to watch that interaction.
