If you survived the heat and humidity in the past weeks, congrats because it was a scorcher. The entire country is experiencing high temperatures , and as we continue to kick summer into high gear, we’re discovering the easier the hairstyle the better your life will be.

Sure we’re all about an easy bun, but it’s cool to switch things up, too. And, whether you’re busy caring for a newborn, running behind a toddler or battling the heat while pregnant , we have a few easy hair hacks that will take you less than 20 minutes to achieve.

We asked top celebrity hairstylists to offer a few easy looks you can create at home or even in the car while you’re on-the-go. Plus, we included our favorite products to help you combat frizz and humidity even more.

Look hot (but don’t feel hot) this summer with these humidity-proof hairstyles:

1. Twisted ponytail (even on short hair)

  1. Divide a large ponytail into two sections, then twist one section and wrap around the other section to create this casual twisted ponytail.
  2. Secure with bobby pins and small elastic holders. Create a tousled look with a styling iron.

2. Dutch braid

  1. Start with center-parted hair and brush out any tangles. You can even try this look on box braids (see photo). Place a section of hair over each shoulder—three small pieces (about half an inch or less) at your hairline.
  2. The key point to remember with Dutch braids is to weave each piece under rather than over. The piece on the right goes under the middle, and then the piece on the left goes under that.
  3. Repeat the pattern of crossing the right section under the middle strand, and then the left section under the middle strand.
  4. Keep adding more hair (about a half- to three-quarter-inch) from the root each time you weave a new section.
  5. Once you reach the nape of your neck, switch to a regular three-strand braid. Tie it off at the end with a clear hair tie.

3. Easy braided bun

  1. First step in creating this easy braided bun is to pull your strands back into a low bun, secured with a few pins. If you don’t have curls or waves, use a curling iron to create mini curls throughout.
  2. If you want to elevate your easy bun hairstyle even further, incorporate a braid. Make sure that you’ve chosen your part and left a chunk of hair out of the wrap-up before twisting it up into your bun.

4. Messy pony

  1. If your hair is thin, add some body with textured waves using a texture spray. If your hair is on the thicker side, use a leave in conditioner or an oil for extra moisture.
  2. Once your hair is textured, use your hands to gently pull your hair back into a ponytail at the level of your choice.
  3. When your placement is just right, tie it off with a hair tie. Be sure not to wrap your elastic too tight, as you’ll want to be able to pull a few pieces free before completing your look. Wrap into a low bun when the day get really messy.
