A office nursery for new moms to visit babies during the work day? LOVE.
Lots of people talk about how we can better balance our work lives with our family lives. This week, diva mom-of-two Rachel Zoe shared that she decided to do something about it – not just for her family, but for her employees and their kids, too. What's more, the fashion icon shared on her blog this week that the decision to build a nursery for employees next to their work space, allowing her staff to spend more time with their children throughout the day, wasn't just a good PR move. She says it makes good business sense. Here's Zoe:
"Seeing how motivated and committed the mothers on my team were after returning from maternity leave and being able to set up their babies in the nursery has only solidified my belief that every company should consider this option. Sure it required us to make additional investments—the physical space, the insurance required to protect everyone, the furnishings—but what we are getting in return is invaluable; the working mothers at our company can improve and grow our business without having to sacrifice spending precious time with their babies at such a crucial stage in their mother-child relationships."

Zoe shared that she made the decision after realizing, "If I can bring my babies to editorial meetings (it happens), fashion shows (guilty) and designers' parties (most fun ever), why can't my girls have their babies close by too?"
Instead of countless hours spent at coworker happy hours, or coffee chats spent complaining about office antics, many new moms would be thrilled to spend time throughout the workday checking in on baby – whether breastfeeding, building blocks or reading books. Zoe's move puts her on our total #GIRLBOSS list, proving, once again, that incredible opportunities are possible to those willing to think creativity about how we can all better integrate our personal and professional lives.
