A splurge for sure, I feel like this may be the time to bite the bullet. For years, many of my skin idols (that sounds way creepier than I mean for it to) point to this as one of their holy grails. And just recently a Motherly colleague cited it as the one beauty product she can’t live without. (Is this a sign? Absolutely.) According to her, “Yes, it’s pricey, but it does everything to the point where you can skip other serums and moisturizers entirely. A fellow skincare obsessed friend told me these were her pandemic go-to when professional facials were off the table. I resisted because of the price, but now that I caved, I’m never going back. After the very first use, I could feel a difference in my skin. It was extraordinarily soft and my pores had diminished considerably. Now I use them once or twice a week and to make them last longer, I only use one half of each pad for a single treatment. What can I say? I might have a skin obsession, but at least I’m economical about it.

Not only is this my favorite sunscreen, it’s one of my top five beauty products of all time. Like desert island-levels of must-have. The silky gel-like formula is unlike anything I’ve ever encountered, leaving a velvety finish that is somehow not at all drying. (Sorcery!) It leaves my skin perfectly primed for make-up and doesn’t come back to haunt me with grease or slippage when the temps rise throughout the day. It also blends seamlessly into all skin tones which (though all sunscreens should) is not often the case. I give it an 11 out of 10 and live in fear of it being discontinued. Hence, it’s always in my cart at sale time!

Whether it was the first product you snuck out of your mom’s make up bag or you only recently caught wind of it because of Tik Tok, chances are you know about the magic that is Clinque Black Honey lipstick. I mean Almost Lipstick. Since it launched in 1971, it has held a steady ranking as beauty staple because of the way it manages to look amazing on well, everyone. The sheer formula is more of a sheer lip balm that transforms to a “your lips but better” shade with a few swipes. It’s perfect for everyday but noticeable enough to wear for date night.

While most skincare is formulated for the long game, nothing’s more satisfying than instant results. Case in point? The Total Eye Lift Anti-Aging Eye Cream from Clarins. According to one Motherly staffer, “If you’re going to spend money on skincare, spend it here. I’ve tried everything from cheap to pricey and this is the only eye cream that really does what it says (and does it all!). Gets rid of puffiness, fine lines, adds brightness—plus you can use it on your lids which is ideal for puffy eyes/hooded lids AND it also works as an eyelash and eyebrow growth serum. Bottom line: Pry this one from my cold, dead hands—never going back!”

This product has become a staple in our house because every single person uses it. The silky balm removes make-up, sunscreen, and middle school soccer game face paint like a total dream. It’s also super gentle, not stinging the eyes or stripping the skin while it cleanses. I’d still have some left but a gaggle of 6th graders went ham on it after midnight make-overs which I can’t even pretend to be mad about. My tween apple did not fall far from the tree.

Many of us at Motherly have favorites but one that’s universally loved is the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Hydrating Serum. The combination of  low, medium, and high molecular weight hyaluronic acid allows it to work through all layers of skin to help hydrate and plump. Our hot tip? Use it at night. It’s not great at playing with make-up but more importantly, your skin loses more moisture at night which necessitates a little extra hydration TLC.

It’s hard to overstate the miracle that is the Ordinary Rose Hip Seed Oil. Loaded with antioxidants, vitamins A, C and E, and fatty acids, it works hard to fight acne, hydrate, brighten, soften wrinkles and even fade scars while evening skin tone. (Which also makes it a great stretch mark solution as well!) It’s suitable for sensitive skin, and we’ve even used it to help calm angry flares of eczema. As far as oils go, it does sink in nicely, but if you’re more on the oily side or don’t love that dewy look, you may want to stick to using it at night only.

I never actually believed in eye cream until I tried this one. True story, I’m a Botox fiend and started using this at the tail end of an injection cycle. Within a couple days I started wondering if I should postpone my next appointment. The fine lines I treat around my eyes had faded and overall my eyes looked as bright as they do when the Botox is fresh. I’m still firmly on the injectables train, but anything to prolong treatments is a win in my book.

I’m buying AT LEAST two bottles of my favorite body serum to stock up. I’m not a lotion girlie, but I love to use this on damp skin right after a shower to lock in moisture. It’s fragrance-free which means it doesn’t compete with any perfume or body spray and great for sensitive skin too. Bonus points if you follow it with body oil!

This is my secret for super glowy skin. I mix it directly into sunscreen and/or tinted moisturizer, and it creates a sheer base with light coverage that lasts all day. I always have a backup on hand!
