Grandmothers are everything. That's why when we ask our community to share their photos of grandmas meeting their grandchildren for the first time and the images did not disappoint, one photo was better than the next.
I vividly remember the second my mother stepped into the hospital room where I was recovering and laid eyes on her brand new granddaughters. It was magical.
There's something about knowing what the birthing person just went through that makes grandmothers understand the rollercoaster of emotions that come with the process of becoming a mom—whatever journey we go through to make that happen.
Here are some of the most heartwarming photos of grandmas meeting babies for the first time:

"My mom was my support person during my induction turned emergency c-section because I became single a few months before the birth of my son. I'm not sure what I'd have done without her during my pregnancy and after. Become a first-time, single mom 2 months before my 40th birthday was not planned but I wouldn't change anything."
"My mother in law holding her first grandchild (my son) for the first time at a few weeks old while he was recovering in the NICU from open heart surgery! There were so many tears!"
"When the grandmas lay eyes on their very first grandbaby."
