Everything about the world has changed in the last few months, but if one thing has remained the same, it’s that the tooth fairy has work to do.

That’s why mom Kayla Westhouse is going viral for the tiny mask she made for the tooth fairy to wear during the COVID-19 pandemic.

When her daughter, Evolette, expressed concern about the tooth fairy and social distancing procedures, this Michigan mama got her sewing machine ready. She’s already made a ton of masks for humans, but this was her first mask for a fairy.

“While I tried to explain the tooth fairy can’t get coronavirus, Evolette followed up with ‘how do you know?” and ‘let’s be safe, if she doesn’t need it she will just leave it behind and let us know in a note,'” Westhouse explains in a Facebook post that has now gone viral.

“So, I found myself last night at the sewing machine… Making my 178th mask. For a fairy. And now you can tell all the children that the tooth fairy is safe,” Westhouse writes.

This story just proves that mamas know how to make magic, even in trying times.
