New mamas Mandy Moore and Hilary Duff met up recently so their babies could have a playdate, and the resulting photo shared on Moore’s Instagram Stories couldn’t have been more adorable.

Moore and husband Taylor Goldsmith are first-time parents to two-month-old August Harrison Goldsmith, and Duff and husband Matthew Koma welcomed Mae James Bair just one month ago. Mae is the third child for Duff, who joins two-year-old sister Banks, and Luca, age nine, whose father is Duff’s ex, Mike Comrie.

Moore has been candid about her motherhood journey thus far, including the challenges of breastfeeding. Back on set shooting the 5th season of “This is Us”, she suffered a painful clogged duct, sharing on Instagram, “Home from work at 2am and been up for a bit feeding and trying to sort through this clogged duct. Thanks for all the sweet messages, fellow nursing friends. Definitely doing football holds and exclusively nursing on the one impacted side, lecithin, massage, hot epsom Salt baths, etc. I have a suspicion it’s from being back at work and pumping more often than having him on the boob during the day. All good!”

Duff has been equally open, especially when it came to Mae’s birth. In a recent interview with Dr. Berlin’s Informed Pregnancy podcast, she talks about inviting 9-year-old Luca to be a part of his sister’s home birth. Although Duff’s labor and delivery went quickly and Luca arrived “right as I was pulling the baby out,” she tells Dr. Berlin, “It was kind of important for me because I’m really big on being open and honest with him about how strong women are and what childbirth looks like,” she said. “He knows all about periods and it’s important for me to normalize that conversation with him for all the women that are going to be in his life.”

As these mamas embrace the ups and downs of the motherhood journey, I see many play dates in the future for these cuties!

Moore hilariously captioned the pic on her Instagram Stories, “When August met Mae: A Love Story for the Ages”. Despite Mae’s tears and the nonchalant look on August’s face, I’d say these two are set for a pretty epic friendship at the very least. I look forward to seeing more of these two cuties and following along with their powerhouse mamas along the way.
