XX #SAVEWITHSTORIES A post shared by #SAVEWITHSTORIES (@savewithstories) on May 6, 2020 at 4:11am PDT Archie might seem a little young to be a book worm but the American Academy of Pediatrics suggests parents start reading to kids from birth. And the annual Kids & Family Reading Report by Scholastic finds the percentage of parents reading aloud during a child’s early infancy has increased drastically in recent years—73% of parents now read to their child before their first birthday, like Markle is doing here. It’s basically never too early: Doctors say as soon as babies begin opening their eyes they’re more than ready for books. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, by reading to Archie the Duchess is “stimulat[ing] optimal patterns of brain development and strengthen[ing] parent-child relationships at a critical time in child development, which, in turn, builds language, literacy, and social-emotional skills that last a lifetime.” Happy birthday Archie! We hope you enjoy all books!
