When a new mom returns to work, she often has to figure out the logistics of how she’ll continue to pump milk to provide for her little one. How often will she be able to take breaks? For how long? Where will she store her breastmilk and pump?

In Hollywood, some mamas have additional concerns. For ‘Loki’ star Sophia Di Martino, she needed a costume fit for the Marvel Cinematic Universe—but one that would allow her to nurse her baby when needed.

She just shared a behind-the-scenes look at her genius costume—and how it lets her juggle her two most important roles at once.

“It’s not easy being a working Mama,” Di Martino tweeted. “Genius #christinewada designed Sylvie’s costume & added concealed zippers so I could pump easily & nurse my baby between takes. Little (big) things like this that made it possible for me to do my job & be a parent. I’m forever grateful.”

The star welcomed her first child in 2019 and began filming ‘Loki’ in early 2020, according to Metro.

We love this! A thoughtful design means that Di Martino doesn’t have to lose precious time switching costumes or clothes to provide for her baby. And fans agree.

“That’s brilliant,” one woman tweeted. “So important that mamas who nurse their babies are given the opportunity of doing so, and then to have a costume designer design this for you is awesome.”

Another said, “This is amazing. I’m so glad they made space for you as a new mom, and they made space for your new baby!!”

“Wow. So much respect to you Sophia and to the wardrobe team! Being a mama is tough enough it is very beautiful to see moms being fully supported at work and in any aspect of life,” added another person.

Look, it’s hard enough being a working mom. Maybe that’s why this gesture is resonating with mothers around the world—because we understand how hard it is. When we see work environments embrace and support new moms, it gives us hope.
