Raquel and Derek Pearson of Idaho have an 8-month-old son whose health issues mean they are very grateful to all the delivery people who have helped them get through the pandemic without risking exposure to shop.

The couple left a note on their front door saying so and were touched when their video doorbell captured footage of a delivery worker praying for their boy.

“I noticed that she was standing there, and I didn’t really realize what she was doing until I saw her doing the sign of the cross. I was like ‘Oh my gosh, she was praying,’ ” Raquel told NBC affiliate KTVB. ” I kind of choked up a bit.”

That delivery driver, Monica Salinas, was praying for Lucas, who has a condition known as aberrant right subclavian artery (ARSA), because she understands the struggle his family is going through.

“There was a note and it said their baby’s food was essential, and every time I see that note, it just touches my heart,” she told reporters. “I just stopped to do what my heart told me to do—to say a prayer for the baby and for the parents — because that’s got to be very painful for all of them to see their baby hurt and struggle.”

We’re all struggling right now, and we all need each other more than ever (even if we can only communicate through a door).
