The President has reportedly selected his third SCOTUS nominee.
President Donald Trump has chosen his third pick for the Supreme Court—and he picked a mom.
The New York Times reports President Trump is choosing Judge Amy Coney Barrett as his nominee. An official statement is scheduled for Saturday.
This comes as Reuters reports the Democrats in of the House of Representatives plan to introduce a bill next week to limit the tenure of U.S. Supreme Court justices to 18 years. Right now, Supreme Court justices serve for a lifetime.
After her death President Trump said he planned to announced Ginsburg's possible replacement on Friday or Saturday, telling Fox News, "we should wait until the services are over for Justice Ginsburg."
Now that the President has nominated Barrett she will be confirmed by the Republican-led Senate, likely before the upcoming election. Hours after Ginsberg's death, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell confirmed that "President Trump's nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate."

Judge Amy Coney Barrett is a circuit judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. President Trump has said he prefers a young person for the vacant SCOTUS post and at 48, Barrett fits the bill.
If she gets the seat, Barrett would be the youngest justice on the Supreme Court.
A mother of seven, Barrett became a parent through pregnancy and adoption. Barrett was nominated by President Trump for the appellate court for the Seventh Circuit in 2017 and made history as the first woman to occupy an Indiana seat on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. A professor of law at and graduate of Notre Dame, Barrett clerked for the late Justice Antonin Scalia.
