5 Q's with Narelle

Name: Narelle Payne Melnick

Neighborhood: Just moved to Topanga, CA (previously Tribeca)

Occupation: Yoga instructor

Baby's Sex: Your guess is as good as mine!

How would you describe your pregnant style?

Simple and comfortable; especially now that I'm nearing the end.

Have you had any challenges learning to dress your pregnant body?

Putting on socks and shoes has been the biggest challenge for me, fortunately my husband is good at pulling off winter boots!

So far, what has surprised you most during your pregnancy? This is the most important job I've had; carrying life. It is surprising how much I care about what I eat, what I hear, see and do knowing that it is not only impacting me but another consciousness altogether. Life feels much more pure!

What’s been your favorite pregnancy piece or brand to show off your bump?

I've worn HATCH all the way! Super stylish, well made, beautiful clothes that I can continue to wear after pregnancy too. I adore this label.

What experience are you most looking forward to sharing with your baby? To begin with, I guess I hope to share a beautiful, healthy, peaceful birth experience with our bubba. And then to take the transition slowly from one realm into the next, to hear birds together, dogs barking, trees rusting... all things beautiful.

I was blissfully asleep on the couch while my little one was occupied elsewhere with toys, books and my partner. She got bored with what they were doing, escaped from his watch and, sensing my absence, set about looking for me. Finding me on the couch, nose-level, she peeled back my one available eyelid, singing, "Mama? Mama? ...You there? Wake UP!"

Sound familiar? Nothing limits sleep more than parenthood. And nothing is more sought after as a parent than a nap, if not a good night's rest.

But Mother Nature practically guarantees that you are likely to be woken up by a toddler—they're hardwired to find you (and get your attention) when you're "away."
