How would you describe your pregnant style?

So far, not so interesting, to be honest! This summer was so hot that I wore light sundresses every single day. Now that the fall air has come in, I’m in jeans and tops daily, usually with ballet flats (and then a quick switch to fun heels for the occasional night out).

How has your pregnancy style changed or evolved with each baby?

My first pregnancy, I was still working in the fashion industry in P.R., so my style was amazing. I had direct access to every designer sample sale imaginable, and empire-waisted tops and dresses were in style, so the only maternity clothing I bought was one pair of maternity jeans! Second pregnancy, I was working from home and had another young baby, so I relied on summer maxi dresses and bold jewelry to feel like I still had it. This pregnancy, I’m back at work full time at my shop in Fort Greene, so I definitely try to represent my fashion roots as much as possible, but have a lot less time and money to execute it for sure!

So far, what has surprised you most during your pregnancy?

I think this time around I definitely felt the worst morning sickness of all three pregnancies, but I also continued to exercise which has helped me physically and mentally a lot. Still in the fifth month, if I don’t run for a few days, nausea takes over my life, but when I get a run in every two days or so, I feel absolutely great.

What’s been your favorite pregnancy piece or brand to show off your bump?

We have six weddings of extremely close friends this year. I think I’ve worn the same fitted spaghetti strapped DVF dress to at least three so far!

What NYC experience are you most looking forward to sharing with your baby?

My first daughter spent her days and nights in the best neighborhoods and restaurants. My second got a lot less of that because we also had a toddler to deal with. This one will surely get the least! Realistically, just a lot of weekend strolls in Fort Green to the Flea and local restaurants. Thankfully our kids, being New Yorkers, love to eat out and are generally really good at it!
