BUMP ENVY

5Qs with Michelle

Name: Michelle Mason

Neighborhood: Williamsburg

Occupation: General Manager, Personal Trainer & Fitness Instructor, Uplift Studios

Number Pregnancy: 1

How would you describe your pregnant style?

Because I spend most of my time at the fitness studio where I work, you can find me mostly in workout clothes. When I have a day off or I’m going out to dinner, I tend to throw on a maxi dress with fun jewelry and flats, which is super comfortable without looking too frumpy.

Have you had any challenges learning to dress your pregnant body?

Not really. I'm lucky that I get to work in workout clothes; all of my Lululemon leggings still work -- I am thankful for 4-way stretch fabric! Some of my maternity clothes still don't fit great, but as my bump continues to grow, I am sure I will be grateful for the extra room!

So far, what has surprised you most during your pregnancy?

How good I have felt for most of it. Aside from terrible first-trimester fatigue, some hip pain and the occasional bouts of pregnancy insomnia, it's been a lot easier than I expected! I've been excited and able to enjoy it for the most part.

What's been your favorite pregnancy piece or brand to show off your bump?

Being an active girl, I love FitBump's clothing line! Their maternity workout tops are so flattering, moisture-wicking and, depending on the top, either have panels or ruching designed to accommodate your growing bump (and your shrinking belly post-baby). I always feel good wearing their tops to teach, train and work out myself.

What NYC experience are you most looking forward to sharing with your baby?

One of my favorite things to do is take long walks, exploring new neighborhoods and discovering shops and restaurants with my husband and my dog, Gertie. I can't wait until we have a baby to take along with us. I also can't wait to show him all of my favorite NYC places for the first time!
