Home / Pregnancy What You Missed: Tips by Trimester Here’s what an indulgent evening during pregnancy looks like. By Jessica Pallay May 2, 2016 When you’re counting down towards the big birth day, there’s not a whole lot of indulging going on. Which is a darn shame, because mama-to-be, you sure can use it, right? So we were thrilled to treat some of NYC’s pregnant ladies to some awesome expert advice, luxe prenatal pampering and healthy food and drinks at our latest Tips by Trimester event at Seraphine Maternity. Seraphine’s Soho store provided the perfect backdrop (and shopping excuse!) for an informative and fun-filled evening of mingling, noteworthy tips, mocktails and facial massages. Because there’s no shortage of questions when you’re a mama-to-be, guests got to hear from some of NYC’s foremost pregnancy experts. Stephanie Middleberg, registered dietitian and founder of Middleberg Nutrition, schooled women on what to eat to feel good during pregnancy. Dr. Charles Schaeffer, a psychologist with the Seleni Institute, addressed mental health during pregnancy and beyond. And Lindsay Bliss, doula and co-founder of Carriage House Birth (who had her beautiful baby Olympia in tow!), guided women on how to advocate for the birth of your dreams…or at least one you can be comfortable with. In between speakers, guests glammed up in some of Seraphine’s totally Bump Enviable pregnancy fashions, then filled up on delicious snacks from Barley + Oats pregnancy and postpartum menu and belly-friendly drinks from Bump Water and Balance Water. Since life with baby was inevitably on everyone’s minds, we were so excited to bring some of the best pregnancy and baby brands into the room. Mamas-to-be got up close and personal with products destined to make their lives easier during pregnancy and parenting, with sponsors including Artifact Uprising, Baby K’tan, Weleda, Bamboobies, Sitter.me, bedgear, Happy Family, Ubbi and Babynes. The talented photographer behind Motherhood Storybooks also snapped some fun photos of our beautiful pregnant ladies in her Bump Envy photo booth, and Face Love Fitness helped our guests feel relaxed and reinvigorated with their amazing facial massages. Guests even fueled up their phones at Mommy Nearest‘s charging station. At the end of the evening, a handful of lucky attendees took home raffle prizes from our sponsors, and everyone received a gift bag filled with goodies from Expectful, Hanna Andersson, Instacart, Munchkin, Nine Naturals, Nutrimom and PROnatal Fitness. We are so very thankful for our readers and everyone who supported us and stopped by. Hope to see you at our next event! Photography by Motherhood Storybooks.
