"Despite the heroic efforts of a fearless search team, we were unable to recover it" 😂
We wish every educator had as much compassion and humor as this Vice Principal from Canada.
When one elementary school student lost his tooth in his classroom, he actually lost it. To help keep the magic of the Tooth Fairy alive, Vice Principal Shandee M. Whitehead stepped in. On school stationery, she wrote a letter directly to the Tooth Fairy, vouching for her student.
"Dear Tooth Fairy," the letter reads. "Today one of Gavin's tooth fell out while he was getting ready to eat lunch. Unfortunately it was lost in the classroom, and despite the heroic efforts of a fearless search team, we were unable to recover it."
Can you just picture twenty kids on their hands and knees, searching an elementary school classroom for a baby tooth? 😂
"As a trained Vice Principal and hobby dentist, I can verify that there is definitely a gap in Gavin's teeth that was not there this morning when he came in. Please accept this letter as official verification of a lost tooth and provide the standard monetary exchange rate you normally use for a real tooth."

Do you remember the magic of the Tooth Fairy when you were little? Losing a tooth was exciting because it meant a middle-of-the-night visit from a fairy. It meant magic and, yes, money.
We can only imagine that Gavin was distraught when he lost his tooth to the chaos of his classroom. How would the Tooth Fairy know he lost a tooth if he couldn't place it under his pillow? Would she still leave a reward?
Thanks to Vice Principal Whitehead, Gavin didn't have to worry for long. She sent him home with this gem of a letter.
Teachers and administrators are busy, now more than ever. Vice Principal Whitehead acknowledged this when she shared the letter to Twitter.
She wrote, "In addition to contributing to a long-term plan for ST success, cultivating leadership in others, managing PPL, data, & processes, & improving school leadership … a VP has the duty of helping to create a positive school culture … one that saves the day!"
We love how this educator took the time to help keep the Tooth Fairy magic alive for one of her students.
If you need more proof that Vice Principal Whitehead has a great sense of humor, read her letter's post-script.
"PS - I am still waiting for the money for my wisdom teeth from 2000. Please pay as soon as possible. I have bills to pay."
