It’s a very daunting experience walking into a baby store for the first time to put together a registry. One of the hardest tasks is determining a bottle system that will work for your baby…before your baby has even arrived! We’re betting at least a few of these sound familiar:

  • There are so many to choose from, how will I know what works for my baby?
  • Why are some so much more expensive than others?
  • What’s with all the supplies and are they necessary?
  • How come some of them have wide neck bottle systems and others don’t?

To help us help you create a pleasant feeding experience that will also ensure baby gains and grows, we turned to Alyssa Kane, a speech language pathologist who specializes in pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders. Below, Alyssa outlines the positives and negatives of the top 5 most commonly used baby bottle systems.

The Bottle Line

Always remember, every baby is different and you will not know what works best for your baby until you try. Best suggestion is to purchase two to three bottles (beginning stages only) and try them all out with your baby to determine which one he/she will like best!
