Sneak Peek: Baby Goods

We know you might have spring florals and summer stripes on your mind. But soon enough, you’ll want those yellowing leaves, woodland creatures and layering basics for baby. Especially if you’ve got a little one due in a few months. We recently hit Playtime New York and met the designers and founders of some of our favorite baby brands for a sneak peek at their fall 2016 collections. So we’re bringing you the scoop on the color palettes, fabrics and shapes that will permeate baby’s universe later this year.

Whether you are on the hunt for the perfect nursery accent piece or want to know what your wee one will be sporting in the fall, here are 8 baby things to get excited about for this coming fall.

1. Goodnight Light

The Piña Colada lamp doesn’t just bring a warm glowing light to the nursery. Boasting all the imperfections of the pineapple, it also brings an element of kitsch that is ultimately unexpected in the world of baby. But you don’t need to be a fan of pop culture to get on board with Goodnight Light’s aesthetics. This bear sweatshirt and sweatpants ensemble has all the usual fall fashion suspects a baby (or a mama) can dream of. It comes in a warm rust color with an all-over bear print and is made with French terry, a soft cotton fabric that is sure to keep baby warm during the colder months. Both pieces are garment dyed, which gives them a soft, vintage look and feel. Rylee & Cru’s founder, Kelli Murray, merges art and imagination to create clothes that are both artistic and easy to wear, and all of her pieces are made in California. 3. Finn+Emma

Get baby ready for the best playdate ever with Finn + Emma‘s Woodland Play Gym. With both sustainability and style in mind, the brand has created a space for baby to play happily (and safely) ever after. The activity mat has a 100% birch wood frame finished with non-toxic stains and lacquers; and the wooden toys are crafted of natural untreated Indian hardwood, which is buffed with vegetable seed wax. The knit dolls are made of organic cotton and are hand-knit by artisans in Peru. We love the hipster twist that the brand gives to the woodland creatures. The kimono-style gown is one of Bacabuche’s top sellers, and rightly so.
