Getting dressed for motherhood is not easy. Whether you’re pregnant, are nursing or have a kid (or several!), there are so many things to consider, from fit to feel to figuring out if you can wash that spit-up/breast milk/chocolate croissant stain out!

We are big believers in having a “go-to” in your closet that’s beautiful and versatile, and that makes you feel like a million bucks. Teat & Cosset’s new Olivia sweater is just that. It’s made from a cozy cotton/cashmere blend, has discreet nursing or pumping access, and is totally machine washable (that’s the trifecta, right?). And like the rest of the Teat & Cosset collection, it works over a growing a bump AND if you’re well beyond the baby stage. So you’ll be wearing it this Fall, next Fall and many Falls after that.

Need a little style inspo? Take a look at how a few very chic NYC mamas are making the Teat & Cosset Olivia sweater their go-to for fall.

What’s been your biggest style challenge during this stage of pregnancy?
Figuring out the best silhouettes for my changing shape. Bodycon and cropped are working really well for me right now versus loose styles.

What’s one thing you love about your body right NOW?
My growing belly and protruding belly button! This is the last time in my life I’ll experience this physical miracle, so embracing every moment.

I love a good stripe! I paired Teat & Cosset’s Olivia sweater with a light washed denim and a contrasting boot by Balenciaga. I added a cropped leather Ganni jacket, to help add shape and silhouette.

How would you describe your style?
Classic and chic. My closet consists of basic staple pieces (primarily in black), but I’ll integrate a trend or two to mix it up. Post baby, my style while on leave has been very casual.

What’s been your biggest style challenge during this stage of motherhood?
My biggest style challenge is finding clothes that fit. I’m not yet at my pre-pregnancy weight, so it’s been tough. Breastfeeding-friendly clothes take the headache out of dressing in the morning. It’s so much easier to unzip or unbutton versus lift up your entire shirt to feed in public! The Teat & Cosset styles are very discreet and super comfy.

What’s one thing you love about your body right NOW?
I appreciate my new curves. I was always a curvy girl, but it’s different post baby. Your body takes on new meaning. It’s insane what we can do as women, and my c-section scar is a daily reminder of that.

I’m LIVING in leggings while I work towards losing those last few pounds. I styled the Teat & Cosset Olivia sweater with black leggings and sneakers. Comfortable, easy, yet cute is how I’m living my best life right now.

How would you describe your style?
My style is an eclectic mix of California mama in the city. I like laid-back pieces balanced with a utilitarian piece — like a wide-legged pant with a great fit or a military style coat.

What’s been your biggest style challenge during this stage of motherhood?
Time! Like most moms, my mornings are busy with the school rush. I am out the door early and need to look pulled together by the time I start MY day. I want my clothes to be easy to throw on, yet I am not necessarily looking to dress casual. I need every piece in my closet to work hard.

What’s one thing you love about your body right NOW?
My shoulders, ha ha. They have gotten really defined holding my 30-plus pound toddler who wants to be held 24/7.

This Teat & Cosset Olivia sweater has major style points in how it is designed, and the bell sleeves are a dream. I like to balance my knits with a ‘serious’ piece, yet I must be comfortable, especially if it’s going to be a long day. So I paired the sweater with a loose leather pant — I love jeans but often have client meetings so want to take it up a notch. To add a bit of whimsy, I finished the look with my new Rachel Comey faux shearling mules and my everyday jewels.
