A new varietal joins Target’s California Roots lineup just in time for summer.
Target’s calling it “summer in a bottle,” and we’re calling it a good deal.
On April 8, Target will start selling California Roots Rosé, its newest wine, for only $5 a bottle.
Yes, you read that correctly: $5 a bottle. That’s about $8 less than Yes Way Rosé, which was also launched at Target earlier this year.
The new rosé joins the rest of the low price-point California Roots Wines (owned by Trinchero Family Estates) launched at Target last summer. Currently, the California Roots line consists of a red blend, a chardonnay and a pinot grigio, so the rosé will be in good company once it hits Target shelves Sunday.
“Since we started offering California Roots last summer it has quickly become one of our top-selling wine brands, adding to the overall success of our adult beverage business.” says Mark Tritton, Target executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, in a press release. “ Following up on the recent introduction of Yes Way Rosé, California Roots Rosé—at just $5 a bottle—provides guests with yet another differentiated reason to put Target at the top of the list for their adult beverage purchases.”
California Roots Rosé has “notes of fresh berry and citrus,” and Target even suggests some food pairings to complete your $5 rosé experience: “spicy grilled shrimp, grilled pesto chicken, Margherita pizza, or a crisp spinach salad.” (Okay, forget the wine; I am legit hungry right now.)
So rosé lovers, mark your calendars for April 8th. They’ll be carrying it at 1,200 Target stores nationwide.
