There comes a time in every man’s life when he must face a universal reality when it comes to his partner and children: No matter how impressive he is, no matter how much his family loves him, he’ll simply never live up to Jason Momoa. And that’s OK! If it’s any consolation to Real Dads, not even The Rock can compete with Aquaman in his young daughter’s eyes.

In a series of Instagram posts celebrating his youngest daughter’s birthday, The Rock shared some big news: little Tia finally realizes and accepts that her father is the voice of Maui from Moana. He’s spent the past year trying to convince her of this inarguable fact, but to no avail—until this weekend. Unfortunately for The Rock, that personal win was overshadowed by his daughter’s real hero: Aquaman.

In a heartfelt post, he shared some sweet messages for Tia’s birthday. But all she wants to know is, “Daddy, do you know Aquaman?”

Maui, demigod of the wind and sea, hero of men, may not know Aquaman in his cinematic universe. But in real life, The Rock is able to pull a few strings.

“The birthday girl is OBSESSED with @prideofgypsies!!” (Who isn’t, honestly?)

Hey, who can blame a girl for being intrigued by Jason Momoa? He’s Aquaman! But most importantly, he’s Jason Momoa. And The Rock is a good sport, because he totally indulges his daughter’s obsession as any good parent would.

“For Tia’s birthday she insisted AquaMan join us for breakfast — and then after we eat, she asked daddy to draw AquaMan so she can FRAME IT and hang it up in her room,” he explained.

One difference between Regular Dads and Celebrity Dads is that Celebrity Dads can go the extra mile and have their people call Aquaman’s people and have Aquaman himself send a personal video to little Tia for her birthday. It’s like Cameo, but with a real connection. (The two guys are actually good friends in real life, which just makes this even sweeter.)

The entire video is absolutely adorable, as is Tia’s reaction to seeing her hero addressing her personally. But Jason Momoa delivers a message that’s good for all of us to hear, no matter our age or level of fame: “It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice.”

Bingo. She might only be three years old, but that lesson will last a lifetime.
