As a self-professed beauty product addict, it’s rare I stumble upon something that feels totally new and different and instantly lands itself a place in my daily skin care routine.

But that’s exactly what happened when I tried the Enzyme Cleansing Oil from Pleni Naturals.

Like the rest of my generation who grew up on Stridex pads and extra-harsh St. Ives Apricot Scrub thinking cleansing meant chemically stripping your face off and exfoliation meant grating your face to shreds, oil cleansers can be a tough sell. That squeaky clean feeling meant a job well done and if it stings, well, that’s how you know it’s working. Ugh.

Forget what you think you know, mama.

Meet your new favorite clean. Made from a collection of natural and organic oils (including cucumber, papaya and broccoli!) Enzyme cleansing oil starts with a honey-like consistency which I slather on my face with abandon. The soft vanilla scent is naturally derived so it’s not sickly sweet or fake smelling. Then, add water to emulsify.

Here’s where the magic happens. The resulting creamy lather works to not only remove every last bit of make-up (mascara included) but the enzymatic papaya exfoliates without scratching up delicate skin to do it. The post-wash feeling is soft and supple and leaves my skin looking totally glowy. I’ve been using it for over a month now and have literally zero complaints. No clogged pores, no breakouts, and no greasy feeling (or makeup slippage) even when temps have been hovering in the mid-80s.

Need more convincing? You can also use it as a mask and leave it on for 10 minutes before rinsing for deeper exfoliation and moisturizing. Who doesn’t love a good multitasker?
