I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a bit bougie and basic when it comes to my personal style

The older I get, the more I prefer to invest in a few solid, quality, feel-good pieces I can really move in—because as far as I’m concerned, getting my kids fed, dressed and out the door (on time!) every morning might as well be an Olympic sport deserving of only the very best mom uniform. Also, the thought of slipping into a pair of stiff jeans at 7am and wrangling my tiny crew of three active kiddos is a big nope.

I’m more the messy bun, a little bit of concealer to hide the dark circles, comfy Lululemon Align Leggings kind of mom. That is, until I discovered Vuori clothing.

Ironically, Vuori—a California-based premium athleisure brand—launched in 2015 as basically the Lululemon alternative for men. Inspired by the active Cali coastal lifestyle (Hermosa Beach mom, here!), it wasn’t until 2018 that they introduced their now just as popular women’s performance apparel—with a major focus on quality, sustainability and versatility, meaning they were made for more than just the gym.

For me, the Vuori clothing love affair all started with a targeted (um, how did they know!?) Facebook ad two years ago featuring a pair of their cult-favorite Performance Joggers ($94) and a stellar customer review raving about how buttery soft and amazing and totally life-changing they are. After popping up in my feed—what felt like a hundred times—over the course of a few weeks, I finally caved and decided to order a couple pairs.

Needless to say, that very enthusiastic reviewer wasn’t lying—Vuori pants are even better (and softer!) than I had imagined. I ordered my Vuori sweats in both the black and navy heather colors in my typical size small, though I would suggest sizing down if you’re between sizes, as the brand does tend to run slightly big overall. The joggers are just as buttery-soft as the ad claimed and with an effortlessly cool, relaxed, slim fit that hits just above the ankle.

So, is Vuori clothing worth the investment?

A resounding yes! They’ve stood up in the wash (on delicate) for two years now and still look brand new with no color fading, which is rather impressive! I was also able to comfortably sport them all throughout my entire third pregnancy and they still retained their shape postpartum—no stretching.

My favorite thing about my Vuori clothes is how versatile they are. The joggers look great dressed up with Golden Goose sneakers or your fave pair of kicks, a graphic tee tucked in and a chic shearling coat for cold days. I also wear mine all the time with activewear tops, oversized sweatshirts and my Adidas slides for running errands or afternoons at the playground.

And on the days I actually do have time to sneak a workout in, my new go-tos are the Vuori clothing Ribbed Studio Legging ($89). Priced slightly lower than the Lululemon aligns, these babies are worth every penny and are literally the softest leggings I’ve ever worn. Plus, they look great post-sweat sesh too. Huge shout out to the chic mama in my Mom’s Group who looked so good rocking them I knew I needed a pair of my own!

A top favorite of Motherly’s Senior Commerce Editor (who’s also obsessed with the Performance Joggers) is the Daily Legging. “I take about six pilates classes a week and find myself grabbing these as soon as they’re back in my drawer. The wide waistband is super flattering and hits at just the right spot. They’re smoothing but not squeezy and even though they fit like a legging, I love the jogger aesthetic. They’ve also held up super well considering all I’ve put them through!”
