Calling all Golden Girls! If you’re a fan of the popular sitcom from the 1980s and in need of a fun date night idea (or an excuse to take the night to yourself), you’ll love that the newest version has been reimagined with an all Black cast.

It all goes down tonight (September 8) on a Zoom Where It Happened virtual watch party, staring Tracee Ellis Ross, Regina King, Sanaa Lathan and Alfree Woodard.

According to the site, here’s what we can expect: “Join us for an evening that takes a look back to the sitcoms of yesteryear—before you could pause your screens or binge watch. We bring to you our rendition of Golden Girls, reimagined with an all-Black cast of your favorite actresses: Alfre Woodard, Tracee Ellis Ross, Sanaa Lathan and Regina King, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and hosted by Lena Waithe.”

In an effort to bring attention to a Color of Change, the nation’s largest online racial justice organization, the site encourages listeners to sign up to receive messages about how to make a change during this election while enjoying a few laughs.

If you remember, the original Golden Girls sitcom featured funny ladies Beatrice Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty who portrayed senior citizen roommates living in Miami. We’re not sure what we’re in store for tonight, but with Tracee Ellis Ross at the helm, we’re sure it will be a great time.

The virtual watch party begins Tuesday at 9 pm ET. See you there, mama!
