Home / Entertainment Olaf’s origin story is coming to Disney+ ☃️ We'll get a closer look at Frozen's favorite snowman. By Deena Campbell September 14, 2020 Rectangle Our fall season just got a bit cooler. A new Frozen short starring Olaf debuts on Disney+ on October 23rd, and it is the happiness we need to get through these uncertain times. Once Upon a Snowman explains the first days of Olaf’s life; it shows what happened to him after Elsa created him and later when Anna and Kristoff met him in the original Frozen film. “This is an idea that started when I was an animator on the first Frozen,” co-director Trent Correy said in a statement. “Dan Abraham and I are so grateful and excited to have had the opportunity to direct this short, working with our incredible colleagues at Walt Disney Animation Studios.” If you think this short won’t be like other Frozen films, you’ve got the wrong idea. Josh Gad will return as the voice of Olaf and you’ll see all your favorite Frozen characters that you’ve grown to love. Need even more Olaf in your life? Last week on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Gad announced the busy warm-hearted snowman is also helping kids (and mamas!) with the challenges of remote learning with the introduction of Olaf’s Learning Adventures, a series of educational videos that gets kids excited about science, writing and math.
