Pregnancy Fitness Essentials

Who says you can't be fit and fashionable during your pregnancy? We know exercising may feel effortful at times during your pregnancy, but there's an upward trend on evidence and research indicating positive benefits. So why not snag some motivating fitness gear to help you enjoy every minute of exercising with bump in tow? 1. A Pea in a Pod Activewear. A Pea in a Pod activewear collection is getting more and more stylish with a variety of leggings, regular length and cropped, as well as camis. These pieces not only work for an active jaunt but also for cozy, comfy lounge wear. We're super impressed by the new offerings from Beyond the Bump for A Pea in the Pod, including Yoga Fold Over Belly Maternity Leggings, Hug The Belly Long Maternity Legging and this gorgeous Beyond the Bump Cami (above). Buy it here. 2. Boob Design Nursing Sports Bra. A useful all-in-one bra is a dream for new moms. Imagine being able to function throughout the day with adequate support! Boob's Fast Food Sports Bra comfortable and flexible. The bras have smart nursing clips for on-the-spot access to quick and easy nursing, and with perfect fit both during pregnancy and nursing. Have no fear if you sweat because the bras are made with moisture wicking and fast drying functional fabric. At least you don't have to change before a workout! Buy it here. 3. Contigo Autoseal Water Bottle. It seems like water bottles are constantly innovating. Gone are the days where you're collecting endless Poland Spring plastic bottles. We love the Contigo Autoseal technology. Why? Because "It knows when to close." Imagine the days where you need an extra hand i.e. pushing a stroller but don't want to have any issues with a messy, leaking bottle. The Autoseal line offers convenience and ease. Buy it here. 4. Bombas Socks. As your belly grows during pregnancy, your lower extremities continue to expand in order to support the weight. While it may progressively get harder to exercise with the same momentum, it's important to wear supportive socks and shoes. We love the Bombas socks line because they are supportive and super comfortable. The Bombas brand also follows the one-for-one model where for every pair purchased, one is donated to a homeless shelter. Buy it here. 5. Mama Mio 'Lucky Legs' Cooling Leg Gel. This amazing gel rapidly soothes and energizes tired legs and swollen feet. Just squeeze a dollop and rub into tired, aching feet for instant comfort. The gels are fortified with a blend of essential oils, including organic coconut, tangerine and refreshing spearmint as well as infused with calming lavender, chamomile, arnica extract and hydrating murumuru seed butter (all healing friendly!). New mama life is often fraught with decision fatigue. From choosing a pediatrician to choosing a baby monitor, it can be difficult to know which solutions are made to last. Fortunately, Nuna just made one very important decision a lot easier. That's because their new MIXX Next Stroller has everything a new parent needs to get out, get around and get everything done.

An upgraded version of their popular MIXX stroller, the MIXX Next features a more compact fold (shaving 6.5 inches off the folded size, down to 27.5 inches long and 23.6 inches wide) thanks to a compact fold-away axle where the rear wheels tuck under the frame when it folds. Plus, the new model also stays standing when folded—meaning no more back-straining as you bend to pick up your folded stroller and heave it into the trunk. Instead, the MIXX Next can be tucked more easily into storage whenever your ride comes to an end.

Speaking of the ride, your little one will love the new rear-wheel Free Flex suspension™ and front-wheel progression suspension technology that absorbs more shock as you roll over uneven terrain. The wheels have also been updated to tough, rubber foam-filled tires for a smoother, more durable ride and the no re-thread harness makes it easy to clip your baby in securely and quickly. And when all those gentle bumps lull your baby to sleep? The seat features a five-position recline that adjusts quickly with one-hand—all the way down to a true-flat sleeper recline—just don't forget to move them to their crib when you arrive home. (Don't forget to extend the water repellent, UPF 50+ canopy to keep those sleepy eyes shaded.) Even better, the all-season seat keeps baby cozy in winter and unsnaps to mesh for a cooler ride in the summer.

Perhaps most importantly, though, this stroller is made to last. (After all, what's the point of solving a mama dilemma if it creates another one a few months down the road?) The MIXX Next pairs perfectly with all Nuna PIPA™ series infant car seats using the included car seat ring adapter, and then adapts to a child seat that can face toward you (for a little face time) or forward for when your little one is ready to take on the world. All in all, this stroller gets you where you need to go with a child up to 50 pounds, meaning it's the only one you'll ever need.

The MIXX Next is available in three colors and retails for $749.95.

Sorry, you can’t meet our baby yet

    Thank you for understanding. ❤️

In just over three weeks, we will become parents. From then on, our hearts will live outside of our bodies. We will finally understand what everyone tells you about bringing a child into the world.

Lately, the range of emotions and hormones has left me feeling nothing short of my new favorite mom word, "hormotional." I'm sure that's normal though, and something most people start to feel as everything suddenly becomes real.

Our bags are mostly packed, diaper bag ready, and birth plan in place. Now it's essentially a waiting game. We're finishing up our online childbirth classes which I must say are quite informational and sometimes entertaining. But in between the waiting and the classes, we've had to think about how we're going to handle life after baby's birth.

I don't mean thinking and planning about the lack of sleep, feeding schedule, or just the overall changes a new baby is going to bring. I'm talking about how we're going to handle excited family members and friends who've waited just as long as we have to meet our child. That sentence sounds so bizarre, right? How we're going to handle family and friends? That sentence shouldn't even have to exist.
