Neve Campbell is returning to the big screen to join the cast of Scream 5 and we’re certain it will be a screaming good time.

Originally, Campbell was reluctant to return to the hit movie series after the death of popular film maker, Wes Craven, but the actress is forging ahead. We can’t imagine Scream without her, and we’re happy to have her step back into the role.

“I am looking forward to getting back to work,” she told Entertainment Tonight in an interview. “It will be the first time since March and I am sure we are all dealing with getting back to work, so I am excited about that. I am [also] excited about stepping back in Sidney’s shoes and seeing Courteney and David. Those movies mean so much to me for my life and career and they are always a blast to do, so it should be fun!”

The official Twitter account for the Scream movies also confirmed the news with the caption, “Hello, Sidney… It’s OFFICIAL: The original Scream queen Neve Campbell is back.”

Scream 5 will also have regulars Dewey Riley (David Arquette) and Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) return, but unfortunately it won’t premiere until January 14, 2022 so we’ll have to wait a little over one year to see it. But, in the meantime you can check out Campbell in the new film, Clouds, available on Disney+.
