Demi Moore says she’s entering her ‘unhinged grandma era’ and we love that for her

On Tuesday, Rumer Willis—the eldest daughter of Hollywood legends Bruce Willis and Demi Moore—confirmed her pregnancy on Instagram. After the happy announcement, Moore shared her own excitement about becoming a grandma on Instagram.

“Entering my hot kooky unhinged grandma era 🌱,” Moore wrote in the caption of the photos she shared of her daughter’s bump.

This will be the first child for Rumer Willis and her boyfriend, Derek Richard Thomas, and the first grandchild for Demi Moore and Bruce Willis. Emma Heming Willis, who is married to Rumer’s father Bruce Willis, also shared her excitement for her stepdaughter.

“Baby news is happy news!!! Congratulations @rumerwillis and @derekrichardthomas We are elated over here! 🐣,” she wrote on Instagram.

Earlier this year, Willis’ family shared the news that Bruce was diagnosed with aphasia—a disorder that results from damage to areas of the brain that produce and process language. Someone who has aphasia can have trouble speaking, reading, writing, and understanding language. Impairment from aphasia can range from mild to severe—some may have difficulty with only one area of communication, others may not be able to communicate in any form.

“As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him,” the Willis family said in a statement. “This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him.”

The family was recently snapped together celebrating the holidays together with Bruce.
