Chrissy Teigen's late son, Jack, will be honored in the most beautiful way by his grandmother.
Chrissy Teigen has been incredibly open about the process of grieving her son Jack who was born still 20 weeks into her pregnancy last year. She and her family have also been very transparent about how a devastating loss like this doesn't just affect the parents who lose a child, but an entire family.
Now, the model/cookbook author's mother, Vilailuck "Pepper" Teigen, is also sharing tributes to baby Jack. The grandmother will honor her late grandson in the most meaningful way: Pepper has revealed that her forthcoming cookbook (appropriately titled Pepper Thai Cookbook ) will be dedicated to the grandchild she lost. The cookbook is out on April 13.
Pepper also opened up about how losing Jack has affected the entire family, including Chrissy and John Legend's children, Luna and Miles. She touched on how the family grieves, as well as how they're all coming to terms with the loss.
"We talk about him every day. Luna talks about him every day, and that's how we grieve," Pepper told the Wall Street Journal. "We're getting better each day. We're getting so much better, and Chrissy too."
Shortly after Chrissy shared that she had lost her third baby, Pepper posted photos and a video of her saying an emotional goodbye to baby Jack. "My heart aches love you so much baby Jack," she wrote at the time.
If you're familiar with Chrissy's cookbooks, you know her culinary skills have been heavily influenced by her mom, who often cooks dishes that celebrate her Thai roots. In a recent interview, Chrissy also opened up about how Thai traditions have influenced the way she's grieved the loss of her son, including her decision to plant a tree inside the house in Jack's honor—and her choice to discuss their late brother with Luna and Miles.
"It's important for us in Thai tradition that we always embrace the ones we've lost, and they're never, ever gone. This tree being planted inside the home, the whole reason why I wanted it was so Jack's ashes could be in that soil and he could be with us all the time and grow through the beautiful leaves in this tree," Chrissy told PEOPLE. "The way Miles and Luna talk about him is so beautiful and reminds me of when I was little talking to my grandpa who was just sitting bedside next to my mom in a little urn. It's all beautiful, and I love that tradition carries down."
