If you take a generic version of Xanax for anxiety you should check your medication against a new recall.

Drug manufacturer, Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc., issued a voluntary nationwide recall of one lot of Alprazolam tablets because of the presence of a foreign substance. The company didn't publicize what that foreign substance is, but says "the remote risk of infection to a patient cannot be ruled out."

Check your tablets for the following information:

The 500 tablet bottles were distributed in July and August, so if you filled your Rx during that time you could be impacted by the recall.

If the info on your bottle matches the information above, call your pharmacist.
