Jennifer Garner is getting candid about how she views her body after having three children.

“There are some incredible women whose bodies just—no matter how many babies they have, they just bounce right back to that slim hips, no stomach,” she said to host Giovanna Fletcher while appearing on the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast.

“I mean it’s incredible. I have so many girlfriends who have that physique and I’m so happy for them. I am not one of them, that is not my gig.”

Garner shares three children with ex-husband Ben Affleck—daughters Violet, 15, Seraphina, 12, and son Samuel, 9.

“I can work really hard and I can be really fit and I’ll still look like a woman who has three babies, and I always will,” she added.

The Dallas Buyer’s Club actor also addressed seeing pregnancy rumors about herself circulating in the media.

“It’s still happening. I’m 48, and I’m single. And it’s still happening, so you might as well take that bull by the horns,” she said, adding, “It’s just a body. Be grateful to it. It carried you this far. It carried babies for you. What else do you want? My goodness.”

We love her attitude and honesty.

Garner’s right: we all need to be more grateful to our bodies for carrying us and our children.

If you’re feeling insecure about your postpartum body, try to focus on what it did for you. It helped you bring that beautiful baby (or babies!) into the world.

Also, there’s no rush to “bounce back” or look like you were never pregnant. You were pregnant; that’s part of your story. Embrace it, mama.

You’re the center of your child’s world. We know that your baby loves every inch of you. It’s our hope that you’ll learn to love your new body, too.
