Meghan Markle was overdue, exhausted, and ready to meet her baby. So she did what many moms do in those final hours of labor—she danced. And the moment she shared? It’s one that moms everywhere will recognize.
To celebrate Princess Lilibet’s fourth birthday on June 4, Meghan posted a previously unseen clip of herself dancing in a hospital room, baby bump in full view, with Prince Harry right by her side. And it’s set to the viral track “The Baby Momma Dance”—because, of course, it is.
When walking and spicy food don’t work…
The video shows Meghan, 43, in a black dress, swaying, spinning, and holding her bump to the beat. A few moments later, Prince Harry enters and joins the fun—dropping it low in sync with the lyrics. The two are laughing, moving, and clearly savoring a moment of lightness before one of life’s biggest transitions.
Meghan captioned the clip on Instagram with a note every pregnant mom can relate to:
“Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work—there was only one thing left to do! 😂”

A joyful moment during an emotional journey
While the dance video shows a carefree side of labor, Meghan and Harry have been open about how intense the birth of their daughter truly was. In his memoir Spare, Prince Harry recalls his hope to be the first person Lilibet saw when she was born. He stood by the doctor’s side, crouching and watching closely.
He wrote that there was a moment when he feared their baby wasn’t getting enough air—but then came “a scream, then a moment of pure liquid silence.” He described helping deliver Lilibet himself:
A birthday filled with sweet memories
Before sharing the dance video, Meghan also posted never-before-seen photos to mark Lilibet’s birthday, including one of Prince Harry holding their newborn and another of him walking barefoot hand-in-hand with their daughter. Meghan called Lilibet “Daddy’s little girl and favorite adventurer,” and the bond between them is clearly something the family treasures.
Every labor story is different—and worth honoring
Whether it’s walking for hours, eating pineapple, or cueing up a viral dance trend, the final days of pregnancy are filled with anticipation and often a bit of desperation. Meghan’s video is a beautiful reminder that labor—no matter how it unfolds—is deeply personal, wildly emotional, and sometimes even joyful.
It’s not about perfection. It’s about presence. And sometimes, dancing through the uncertainty is exactly what gets us through.
