Music’s biggest night was a family affair for Kelly Clarkson this year. Clarkson brought the cutest date with her to the 2024 Grammy Awards, hitting the red carpet with her 7-year-old son Remington Alexander by her side.

The duo began by posing for photos before the ceremony, with the proud mama sharing the spotlight as Remington showed off his adorable outfit. He wore a red velvet tux with a ruffled shirt, spiked work boots, and a colorful boutonniere to top it all off. His mama wore a custom off-the-shoulder porcelain white bonded crepe sculpted gown designed by Jason Wu, looking every inch the old Hollywood starlet with soft waves, classic makeup, and the perfect amount of bling for the evening.

Cameras caught the pair holding hands before they stepped out onto the carpet, all smiles as they posed together. They then hung out for the big show, with Remington seemingly enjoying a fun night out alongside so many of music’s biggest stars.

Clarkson also shares 9-year-old daughter River Rose with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, but it doesn’t seem like she joined them for the big outing. Remington is no stranger to the spotlight, however. The talk show host has brought her little ones along for special occasions in the past, telling Entertainment Tonight back in 2019 that toting two toddlers on a red carpet was “not for the faint of heart.”

She brought her brood to the Los Angeles premiere of her animated family comedy UglyDolls when River was just 4 and Remington was 3. At the time, she told the outlet how she prepared her little ones for the onslaught of attention they would receive, but it seemingly wasn’t the easiest experience.

“Man, that was hard to navigate a red carpet with two toddlers,” Clarkson said with a laugh. “That’s not for the faint [of heart].”

“This was the greatest thing. [When we got here] we said to [River], ‘Now don’t be freaked out. When we get on the red carpet, they’re gonna be yelling mommy’s name. Don’t get freaked out. Just keep smiling,” Clarkson recalled. “And what she got from that was, ‘Why are they only screaming your name?’… she was like, ‘Why aren’t they screaming my name?'”

“I thought, ‘Oh my god, the foreshadowing is scary,'” she added with a laugh.

Now, at 7, Remington is already an old pro. So sweet! Here’s hoping they both had a wonderful evening together.
