With the beginning of school approaching soon, breakfast with kids is about to get a whole lot busier.
If your kids are picky eaters, and even if they’re not, finding healthy breakfast foods that your child will eat and actually enjoy can be a challenge. It’s also easy to get stuck in a breakfast rut when your kids are eating the same thing every day (my kids fell into an Eggo frozen waffles cycle last year, so I particularly understand this reasoning).
As a result, I’ve researched some kids’ breakfast ideas that check all the boxes: they’re easy to make, healthy and your kid will love them. Oh, and as always, coffee is recommended (for mama, that is).
10 easy kid-friendly breakfast ideas that your child will love:
Avocado toast

Super food, super good for your little ones. Avocado toast is pretty simple to make, but if you need any assistance, check out this recipe from The Kitchn.
Nutella breakfast pizza

Because, Nutella + anything = happiness. We love this easy recipe from The Thrifty Mom.
Breakfast Parfait

A good way to blend crunchy and sweet together, and with plenty of ways to keep it varied, parfaits blend yogurt with granola and fruit. The ratio is up to you! This “Cat in the Hat” version from The Seasoned Mom is pretty cute, too!
Eggs on toast

There are so many ways to make eggs on toast! My kids love the egg slightly runny, over avocado toast, or even hard-boiled. Serve this dish with some apple slices or blueberries on the side, and you’re good to go.
Banana toast

Easy for wee ones to eat on their own, and super delicious. Combine with peanut butter or Nutella and you’re good to go! If you want to follow a recipe, this one from One Handed Cooks is a good one.
French toast casserole

We love the strawberry French toast casserole recipe at Jeanette’s Healthy Living. Yummy and easy!
Breakfast cookies

Is there any need to say anything else? I mean, really. Do kids ever say no to cookies? This breakfast cookie recipe from Money Saving Mom is easy to double up on, and freeze if you have extra and want to save for the following week. If you’re lucky!
Pancake muffins

Serve these bad boys up with a little maple syrup on the side, and you’ll have one happy toddler. Love this healthy recipe from Eats Amazing.
Apple sandwiches

The epitome of easy, quick breakfasts. Great for a snack, too! Whole Foods Market has all the details on their website.
Snack plate

Yummy Toddler Food has tons of great breakfast ideas on her website, including this toddler snack plate. In this suggestion, try a low-sugar dry cereal or crackers, protein in the form of cheese, cottage cheese (in this case), nut butter, boiled egg or salami, and fruit.
