On how to feel more like yourself during pregnancy
“Beauty to me is defined by confidence and strength. So when you feel good about yourself, that gives you that confidence. When you put on something beautiful that makes you feel like you’re doing your best or looking as good as possible—that kind of makes it all feel good. When you put some of these pieces, they do the job for you. I think that helps combat some of the unknowns that happen when women are pregnant. Feeling good about yourself is about the confidence of knowing ‘I’ve got this’ and putting things on—whether it’s lotions and potions or beautiful underpinnings or clothing—that make you feel good leads to a great day.”Hatch Collection Eliza Dress

On thinking beyond basic black + the one fashion myth pregnant mamas shouldn’t listen to
“The good news is with the rise of social media, women in fashion and editors are turning the phone and Instagram on themselves to show that they can rock the bump and feel good. What I love about this moment is that pregnant women and non-pregnant women can dress the same. You don’t have to be ostracized from fashion during pregnancy anymore. You can feel fantastic and rock the sequins if you wish. Black is always a safe option, and we’ll always cut our best pieces in black, but going with a little color or stripe is ok! I think a lot of us have this myth that stripes make you look wide, but [at Hatch], stripes are our number one trend. They just work to make you feel like you’re on-trend, yet also kind of subtle and not too loud. But I think for Holiday when this pandemic is behind us a little bit, people are going to come out in sequins and rainbows—pregnant or not.”Hatch Collection The Bateau Top
