I was on the goop lip balm waitlist and it was worth the wait -

I’ll start by admitting that I know nothing about Goop. I know some swear by their products, but all I really know about the brand is that it was founded by Gwyneth Paltrow and that there was a candle that supposedly smells like her vagina (so many questions). However, there are some converts out there that swear by the brand’s products, and honestly, how can you blame them? Have you seen how stunning Gwyneth looks? If anything they sell makes me look like 1/20th of what she looks like, I’ll be a brand devotee forever.

So when I found out that the Goop lip balm sells one every minute, is currently totally sold out and there is a waitlist of thousands, I was first skeptical followed by curious, which quickly turned into “I must have this lip balm” given how super dry and chapped my lips have been. Thanks to winter, three kids, working from home with blasting heat and being utterly exhausted, I’ve been totally neglecting my lips (along with my entire face). So any love I could give them, I knew they’d be thrilled to have.

When it first arrived I thought it was way smaller than expected. It is the size of a regular chapstick. It comes in a gold tube which makes it feel way fancier than a regular chapstick. From the first time I tried it on I knew Gwyneth was onto something good, because I could basically hear angels singing around me. My lips LOVED it. It’s soft, nourishing without being sticky and the smell and taste are just perfect—not too overpowering.

According to Goop “100% of women said their lips looked and felt replenished, smoother, softer, and more moisturized after just one use” and let me tell you, I am 100% part of those 100% women, because yes, game changer. Also, Gwyneth is one of us in the winter, even her lips get chapped and that’s why they came out with this product, “”There’s so much we wanted to get right: It had to be super cushy and nourishing. It had to feel amazing and perform even better. It had to have the perfect slip, the perfect finish, a subtle scent, just a whisper of a taste, the softest glide. It’s full of amazing oils and shea butter. My lips really get dry in the winter especially, and this balm soothes and moisturizes like nothing else.”
