Before I was a mom, I never really imagined myself coordinating the entire family in one print . I’ll admit I was even a little judge-y about those who did. (Hey, motherhood teaches you a lot , including not judging others because we are all doing the best we can in whatever way is best for us). I also naively thought that matching looks were reserved for girl moms since they could look like a mini version of yourself. So when I found out my first was a boy, I never thought I’d be looking into matching outfits.
That quickly changed. A mix of my style not being particularly feminine and my son loving super bright colors (just like I do) meant that I was coordinating our looks before I could even notice what I was doing.
Now, with three kids under 3, I am all about matching my family—yes, that includes my partner, who admittedly is way more into it than I am most of the time. It’s fun, not limited to one gender, and it makes family photos so much more memorable (still don’t know how to make everyone look at the camera at the same time, send me tips!).
Here are my favorite mama and mini matching looks:
