revlon one step hair dryer

I have two concurrent hair problems happening right now.

The first is that I am fairly clueless about hair and beauty in general. I love shopping for makeup and watching tutorials, but when it comes to actually enacting said beauty and hair lessons on my own head, I end up looking like my kid's Barbie doll that got partially sucked down the bathtub drain one too many times.

The second is that my pandemic hair situation is, well… a situation. I haven't had a haircut since February and let's just say that I am not as "ungray" as I thought I was prior to Covid.

I am pretty low-maintenance, so overall I am okay with my hair problems—but I can't help but want to feel put together and pretty at least sometimes. That's why I am completely obsessed with my hairdryer—The Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer And Volumizer Hot Air Brush—and it's on sale right now.

This hair dryer is a big oval brush that dries as you brush it through your hair—this means I don't have the fumble with a hairdryer in one hand and a brush in the other, meaning I have way more control with the Hot Air Brush.

It smoothes hair as it dries, so my hair is shiny and sleek in a matter of minutes (I'm also obsessed with Verb Ghost Oil for its hair-smoothing magic). And, the shape makes it super easy to add volume as I go. For reference, I have a lot of fairly thin, shoulder-length hair, and my hair goes from towel-dry to completely dry in under 10 minutes with this dryer.

One more thing: I often use this on two-or-three day hair. I splash a little of water on my hair, run the hair dryer through it, and then add some dry shampoo, and I have almost instant volumized, fresh-looking hair.

I am not a beauty editor by any stretch of the imagination. But waxing poetic about this hair dryer is easy-peasy. I really am in love with it and can't recommend it more highly as the ultimate mama hair-hack.

The Revlon Hot Hair Brush is on sale right now.

Verb Ghost Oil

ghost hair oil

A few drops of this oil make hair instantly healthier-looking and oh-so-shiny. It's free of parabens, sulfates and cruelty so I feel good about using it as often as I do. It smells divine and totally elevates my hair-look with ease.

Batiste dry shampoo

dry shampoo

This is my go-to dry shampoo. It's inexpensive (which is good because I use it, um, a lot) but super effective. My hair is left clean and volumized, and smelling pretty awesome, as well.

You will always be their safe space, mama

You are their haven. Their harbor. Their sanctuary, their peace. You are comfort. Deep breaths. Hugs and back rubs. You're a resting place, a nightmare chaser, a healer. You are the calm within their storm. You are their mother.

To your child, you are safety. You are security. You are where (out of anyone or any place), they can come undone. Where they can let it all out, let it all go. Where they meltdown, break down, scream, cry, push.

Where they can say—"I AM NOT OKAY!"

Where they can totally lose it. Without judgment or fear or shame.

Because they know you'll listen. They know you'll hear them. That you will help piece the mess back together.
