When a baby is born, a parent is born too. And with that transition comes a new life packed with empowering wins and challenging struggles that only a parent can understand. We teamed up with WaterWipes, the world’s purest baby wipes, to field a survey around the evolution into #parenthood. Among the nearly 1,000 survey respondents, a whopping 91% stated that becoming a parent was the biggest transition of their lives. (But you already knew that, right?)

Most parents would agree that a new baby comes with a steep learning curve. In fact, more than 51% of parents surveyed stated that the hardest part of the transition was the pressure to “have it all”—meaning you’re bearing the burden of balancing time with your baby, time with your partner, a career, and everything else on a busy mama’s plate. And, almost 30% of the survey participants reported that their hobbies and leisure time took the biggest hit post-baby.

But like all great challenges, the rewards of parenthood far outweigh the difficulties. Fifty-four percent of the participants said they felt more patient and appreciative of their partner after becoming a parent, while 44% had a greater appreciation for their body. (And with good reason–you made a human, mama!) Over 40% said they had more confidence in themselves. Now that’s a change we can really get behind.
