Lindsay Mach

Determined, Lindsay shared with family and friends that she'd like to adopt embryos. Embryo adoption is commonly a very challenging and lengthy process, which is why Lindsay's story is extraordinary. Just two weeks later, a friend of a friend of her sister's said she had embryos to donate. Even more surprisingly, the embryos were stored at the same clinic, Fertility Centers of Illinois, that Lindsay had been treated at to have her son in 2016. Lindsay was preparing to start treatment when Covid happened. After the temporary halt on treatment was lifted, Lindsay drove six hours round trip every week from Grand Rapids, MI, to Tinley Park, IL, for her monitoring appointments. Her fertility doctor, Dr. Jennifer Hirshfeld-Cytron, was the same doctor who had created the adopted embryos. Lindsay's perseverance paid off when she became pregnant on the first try, and she is due March 10. You can read a speech she wrote for the Share Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Group chapter she leads.
