Some popular infant carriers are being recalled as officials say they put babies at risk of getting hurt. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is recalling three different Infantino carriers that were sold at popular retailers like Target and Amazon, from November to December 2019, retailing from $30-$50. The agency says the buckles on the carriers can break, putting babies in danger of falling out.

Which Infantino baby carriers are being recalled?

  • Go Forward 4-in-1 Evolved Ergonomic carrier (lot codes 2018 0619 and 2018 0719)
  • Flip Front2back carrier (lot code 2018 0719)
  • Up Close Newborn infant carrier (2018 0719)

Have one of these Infantino carriers? Here’s what to do:

If you think you might own one of these models, check the lot code (it’s found on the label sewn inside the carrier’s waist belt) to see if yours is part of the recall. If your carrier comes from a different lot code, it’s not affected and you can keep on using it for hands-free snuggles.

Thankfully, there haven’t been any reports of babies being injured so far but both Infantino and the CPSC still say parents should stop using these carriers immediately. Contact Infantino and the company will replace them for free. It can take 3-4 weeks to receive a new one, but it’ll be worth the wait to know your baby will be safe.

You can call Infantino at 1-800-840-4916 or via email at [email protected] with questions about the recall, or see the full list of FAQ’s here.
